WILLIAM SETH JAFFA

Bill is a manager and co-owner of Jaffa Simmons with over 36 years of experience in public accounting. Bill has served publicly and privately held companies and their executives and owners, nationally and internationally, in the areas of manufacturing, high tech, wholesale, retail, real estate, professional, and other service companies, among other companies.   Bill provides tax planning and oversees compliance services in all almost all areas of tax. He has special expertise in providing clientele representation in tax controversies.

Professional Experience and Education
Mr. Jaffa began his public accounting career in 1976 after graduating from Syracuse University with an MBA. He attended the Syracuse University graduate school on a full scholarship.

Mr. Jaffa has served the accounting profession as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ tax division, and locally, has served the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants as an Arizona tax liaison and State magazine editorial committee member and tax legislation subcommittee member.

Mr. Jaffa has lectured on various tax topics, and has written numerous articles on tax issues for national and local publications. While with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte), he served on three of the firm’s national committees in the areas of Arizona taxation, accounting periods and methods, and closely held corporations.

Community service

Mr. Jaffa is the co-founder and President of the Jolee-Jaffa Music Foundation, Inc. whose mission is to provide music lessons and instruments to the underprivileged and to raise awareness of the health benefits of daily music-making.

Mr. Jaffa was a Mesa City Councilmember and served on the finance, utility, fire, and police committees, and has served on the City of Mesa Board of Adjustment, and City of Mesa Planning and Zoning Board. Mr. Jaffa has extensive experience in real estate development issues.

He has been a board member of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Mesa Convention and Visitors Bureau, board member of Mesa Downtown Center Corporation, board member of the Child Crisis Center, and President and Treasurer of the Mesa West Rotary Club.
